Camp Details
SPLAT Studio Days and camps are a fun place where kids can explore new art materials, be creative, and have fun in Rachel Leach's home art studio! Class sizes are limited to 10 kids per session. Sign up above, and Rachel Leach will email you with directions and details. If your child is participating in a morning and afternoon studio day session, please pack a peanut free lunch. A list of dates is below. Class is located at Rachel Leach's home art studio about 5 minutes from Rockbridge High School. Group classes are for ages 5-12 unless it is specifically open to preschool age.

Fall Outdoor Explorers:
Join us for a joyful exploration of the great outdoors through art, science, music, and imagination! Throughout the weeks of Outdoor Explorers, kids will connect with nature while engaging in hands-on STEM projects, playful scavenger hunts, and nature-inspired art activities based on famous artists like Monet, Van Gogh, Georgia O’Keeffe, and more.
Each session blends creativity with critical thinking—one day we might build a bird feeder using engineering skills, and the next we’ll create a nature mosaic! Throughout this class, students will learn songs, create art, complete team-building challenges, respond to thoughtful journal prompts, hear stories, and learn to observe the world around them like true artists and scientists. It’s sure to be a fun time! This class will be taught by myself and Megan Gabel. Megan has three years experience teaching art with the HEaT program in Columbia. She also taught in Columbia for six years. I’m excited to have her join us!
Spring Art Explorers "Art Around the World":
Grab your passports! We are going on an art adventure across the globe. Along the way students will learn about the culture, history, and art of each region, play traditional games from around the world, and spend time outdoors learning through movement and creativity.
We are headed to Egypt to create papyrus and learn the art of printmaking, creating prints inspired by hieroglyphics and animals. We will continue on to Australia to explore the Outback and Great Barrier Reef, then Europe to design a Notre-Dame–inspired stained glass rose window, and Germany to create 3-D cuckoo clocks.
Glory Girls Inspired Faith Group Class!
K-13 years old
Glory Girls is a fun way to grow in your faith, spend time with other girls, and practice watercolor, calligraphy, drawing and craft. Classes meet 2 times per month on Thursdays from 4-6. Tuition is $25 per class and all supplies are included! If you have an artist interested in joining, please let me know!
